Smallville approached the familiar subject of Superman from the unique perspective of Clark Kent’s (Tom Welling) awkward teen years. One recurring theme of the show was the impact of Clark’s arrival on the little town. His ship hit Smallville along with a meteor shower that caused much destruction and some loss of life. Clark would grow up to save the world, but his arrival carried chaos and conflict to Smallville first.
